I randomly found knife and axe throwing on a VW activity week away in August 2017. For the first 3 days it was all sewing, pottery and meditation, wasn’t for me at all, but I was chilling out and enjoying a break, then on the 4th day this chap came along with combat archery, zorb football and axes with targets. I thought ‘this has gotta be better than sewing!’
I had a throw but was rubbish, but it excited me!
That night Phil, my husband, woke up to me in the campervan , online looking up if there was any knife and axe clubs where I can learn to throw properly.
Within a couple of days I found out about KATTA and spoke to John Taylor. He put me on to Alan K Parish and the Essex Backyard Throwers, so we went along in Sept 2017, joined the club and got seriously hooked!
